Good Morning!

"If grease is the soul of the kitchen, and coffee the drink of the Gods,
routine to perfect to mention, time is a thief I would rob."

On a cold, rainy Thursday morning, coffee and pink lipstick are essentials.

Last night I stayed up wayy too late to watch the first round of the Stanley Cup. Normally I wouldn't even know what that is but my boyfriend is a huge Blackhawks fan, so I got sucked in. Actually it was pretty exciting. The game went into triple overtime and I fell asleep before seeing the winning goal. Sigh. But I guess the beauty sleep was well worth it.

The little outfit is what i'm wearing at work today, I've always loved black and white outfits. I tend to lean more toward simplistic styles because I strongly believe less is more, but I think the touch of pink lipstick and pointed flats gives it something extra. Also, I went with a slicked back pony to make the lipstick pop even more.

Have a lovely day!

Sale Away

Yesterday I received a cute little email from J.Crew informing me that their sale items are now 30% off. My favorite kind of email to wake up to.

I have to buy in-store in order to take advantage of their extra 15% off student discount, but if I happen to stumble in (accidentally, of course), these are some items I would consider picking up.

It's Happening Again...

The Marley Lilly Flash Sale. Nothing stresses me out or gets my adrenaline pumping quite as much. From 8-11pm tonight Marley Lilly will offer 30 amazingly monogrammed items at fabulous prices, and when you spend $50 (which is wayy too easy to do), you will receive a free monogrammed hair bow. And it looks like it's 'Merica themed. Ahhh.

The reason I get so stressed is because a couple weeks ago I missed a flash sale. Silly me. AND the one before that I was at a dinner literally crying as I watched the items slowly sell out on my phone. But I'm determined to remember this one! I even set an alarm on my phone! I'm obsessed, but only a little. The items go fast and I've got my eye on that sparkly chain bracelet.

Neeeed. And I need that bow. This post has officially made me sound like a crazy person but it is a Marley Lilly flash sale. I just love monograms that much. And discounts.

Good luck and happy shopping!

Currently Loving: Wedges!

Wedges are a huge staple in my wardrobe this summer. Not only are they fashionable and versatile, but also comfortable to wear. I can wear them to work and not worry about my feet hurting halfway through the day (this is super important), and also to grad parties or a casual lunch with my mom. I love that I can wear them with a dress, skirt, or even a pair of skinny jeans. Some like to wear them with shorts, but I'm really not a fan of that look!

Here are a few pairs that I'm currently loving. Can I have them all please?
Kate Spade Tresor Wedge | Natural Cork
J.Crew Lillian Patent Low Wedges | Apricot Mist

I also really like how J.Crew styled this pair with cropped skinny jeans and a casual sweater. It looks so effortless but still classic and put together.

Lilly Pulitzer Agendas and Crafts

I know, I know. Everyone has one. Especially if you're in a sorority. But there's a reason these agendas are so popular. They're super cute and make it easy to organize events in your life.

Last year I was trying to find a Lilly agenda once I was back in school, and I couldn't find one anywhere. So, this year I'm definitely going to pre-order. I personally like the large size instead of the small or jumbo, it fits perfectly into my bag and is easy to carry but also has enough room to write in. Here are the patterns featured this year!

Lilly Agendas

My personal favorites are New Green Coronado Crab, Turquoise Lets Cha Cha, and Tropical Pink Lulu. Very fun and fresh, and of course colorful!
Even after the year is up, there are literally a million things you can do with the adorable covers and pages instead of just throwing them out (they're pricey, anyway). Here are a few ideas I grabbed from Pinterest:

Cut out the months and stick them on a cork board to make a monthy planner that's easy to change, or mod podge them on a mirror!

More Lilly-fied cork board!

Mod podge onto coasters!

Use them on wooden letters for decorations, or glue onto wooden picture frames! Perfect for dorm rooms!

Lastly, glue onto a serving tray, hostess with the mostess!

I hope some of these ideas have helped to inspire you! I think I'll be making a corkboard in the near furture :)

Weekend Trip!

This weekend I'm taking a little trip down to Dayton (where I go go school) to meet up with my boyfriend. He has to be there to take the Dayton PD test, so I'm going with him! I'm so excited because I loveee being at school and haven't been back since summer began. We're planning on going to our favorite Mexican restaurant, taking a walk down the Miami River, and maybe hitting a few bars.

It's no secret that I suck at packing. The weather in Ohio is so unpredictable and our plans can change at the drop of a hat, so picking out what to wear is difficult. To deal with this problem I bring a little bit of everything. Not the most practical solution but it works, luckily I have my whole car to fill up (hopefully I won't need that much room, but we'll see).
Weekend Trip
Here are the things I think are important to bring. My iPhone is necessary, obviously, along with headphones for the car ride or to keep me company if my boyfriend falls asleep before me. Sunglasses are a must for the car as well. Then I'm bringing a casual outfit for spending time outside, a Patagonia if it gets chilly, and chinos. Lots of chinos. Some days I'm feeling pink and some days I'm feeling navy, might as well bring both! These outfits are perfect for a casual dinner or hanging out around campus. I'm also bringing a cute dress if we decide to hit the bars. Can't forget an umbrella!

Lastly is the beauty needs. I have a hard time narrowing these down because they are all so necessary in making me look presentable. A toothbrush and hair brush are the bare essentials, along with some mascara. I'm obsessed with my Cetaphil face wash, so that needs to come too. I think I did pretty well considering my makeup bag is probably close to 5 pounds! (Exaggerating, but just a little).

Somehow I fit all of these items into a weekender and my Longchamp. I'm pretty proud of myself! Now I just have to make it down in one piece :)

What are some of your essential weekend items?

Kate Spade Purple

As soon as you enter katespade.com you're hit with an overwhelming amount of lavender. With purple being my favorite color I'm totally ok with this. So, I wanted to feature all of the prettiness for you in today's post! I absolutely love this color for spring. The new items are inspired by Palm Springs palm trees and golf greens, maybe the purple comes from the mountains? I don't know. Whatever the case, I'm loving it.

I'll just keep daydreaming about all these adorable items until I can actually afford them.
