Anthropologie Finds

Last night I met up with a friend for dinner and drinks at this great restaurant called Paladar. I've never been there before but the food was absolutely delicious! I got the Chimichurri Portobello Grill which is a portobello mushroom on top of spinach and rich. So. Good. Oh, and the blueberry lemon mojito was delish as well.

Like a little (alcoholic) fruit salad in a glass.

I picked up these bad boys from Amazon as well, and was super excited to wear them for the first time. Only $9 too!

Anyway, after dinner we stopped into Anthropologie and I decided I had to create a lust list because I saw so many things that I loved.

1 | There were SO many cute books in store that I wanted to buy all of them and stack them on a coffee table. And maybe read some too ;) But really the covers are all so pretty. I flipped through (and fell in love with) The Gospel According to Coco ChanelLunch in Paris, Paris Street Style, and Les Petits Macarons.

2 | You can never go wrong with a stripped tee. I like the little details on the Fairfield Top - the leather pocket and button-up back make it special!

3
| I saw the Cadet Argyle Satchel on display and fell in love. I LOVE the color and the tassel on the zipper!

4 | Anthro's perfume bottles are so pretty and delicate. I saw a set of three in the store and thought they would look so great on the mirrored tray on my vanity!

5
| Prettiest teacup set ever. Makes me want to sit on a terrace overlooking the countryside and sip fine tea. Haha.

Hope your Thursday is going fabulously!

DIY Home/College Decor

In less than a month I'll be moving into my new apartment at school with three other awesome roommates. My direct roomie is my best from from freshman year and the other two are great friends and sorority sisters! Of course being in college means money is limited, but that doesn't stop us from trying to make our apartment as cute as possible. One of my roommates has been texting me pictures of crafts all summer that she's making to decorate!

Here are some great ideas for decorating your home/apartment/dorm that you can do yourself!

glitter flatware and tag
I believe adding glitter to anything is a good idea! I have cheap silverware from Target, so adding a little sparkle would definitely be something to do! Paint on a little glue, pour on glitter, spray with a clear sealant!

Don't forget to glitter-ify your keys too!

I find that having plants in my apartment makes it so much livelier and happier. This DIY for gold leaf succulent pots is easy and adorable!

Pin ribbon to wall and add pictures to fill up space! This will really brighten old, scary dorm walls (like my dorm freshman year, it was bad.)

WASHI tape framed art
Washi tape makes for a great picture frame and is removable. Check out the tutorial here!

washi tape!
While you're at it, might as well do the whole wall!

DIY pillow covers
Make your own pillow covers. These would look so cute on my couch!

I hope some of these ideas will inspire you to decorate your home/apartment/dorm, whatever! In the words of Kate Spade, live colorfully!

Friday Favs

Happy Friday! Tonight I'm going to an Indians game for some hot dogs and fireworks (and hopefully a Tribe win), and I'm free for the rest of the weekend! I'm hoping this mean lots of downtime, relaxing, and catching up on reading.

There are a few things I'm loving this week,

1 | Etsy custom calendars - I really love displaying cute calendars on my desk, and Etsy has tons of custom designs to choose from, monogrammed and all. They're great for sprucing up a boring desk at work, and keeping your life organized.

2 | Tortoise everything (especially sunglasses)

3 | C. Wonder pillows -There are so many fun colors and patterns!

4 | Beach vacays - I'm  headed to the beach in a few weeks, and I'm SO excited. Yes it's going to be a million degress, but I can't wait to get some sun and spend time by the ocean. I'm on the market for a new sun hat and beach bag!

5 | Pretty pink lipstick - Sometimes I like red, sometimes I like coral, but right now I'm liking natural pinks. I think it's a really nice and fresh look for summer.

6 | Apothecary vases for bathroom organization - I really love how these look on a bathroom counter! I would fill them with cotton balls, nail polish, and maybe some lip gloss. I think they are adorable and great for organizing!

What are you up to this weekend?

Kate Spade Home

I absolutely LOVE the fact that Kate Spade designs accessories for pretty much every aspect of life. From clothes, to shoes, to bags, to even accessories for the home. I know that I'm jumping ahead a bit, but in less than a year I will be a college grad and (hopefully) on my way to owning my own space. Believe me, it will be as girly as can be, and I can't wait!

Here are some home accessories from Kate Spade that I'm totally loving:

Kate Spade Home Accessories

Say The Word Seize the Day Mug
Polka Dot Vase (similar)
Two of a Kind Hiball
Ivy Stripe Towels
Market Street Dinnerware
Flatiron Flatware

Many of them are available at Bed Bath & Beyond which makes life that much easier. I have a feeling there is going to be a pink and/or polka dot theme throughout my apartment!

Weekend Overview

Wow it feels like so long since I've posted! This weekend has been SO busy but full of lots of fun things. First, HAPPY SUMMER! The longest day of the year was on Friday and, like I mentioned in my last post, I threw a summer solstice party! Here are some pictures:

The table - complete with fresh flowers, sparklers, and lots of yellow!

The centerpiece - Vase with flowers and lemons and sparklers

Sparklers tied with gold ribbon

Sitting area - Mason jars with candles

Everything all together!

Yay lights and balloons!

It was lots of fun! We had lots of different appetizers and ended the night with a bonfire, s'mores, and sparklers. Definitely the perfect way to kick off summer. If you want to see more of my party planning, check out my board on Pinterest!

How did you celebrate the first day of summer?

Summer Solstice Party

Any reason to have a party is a good reason to me! This Friday I decided to invite some friends over for a Summer Solstice Party. What better day to celebrate than the longest day of the year? It will be an outside get-together complete with candles in mason jars and maybe even some glitter. I'm planning everything around the theme of "light" which is so much fun!

As much as party planning tends to stress me out because I want everything to be perfect, I'm having fun with this one. Of course I headed to Pinterest to give me some ideas. Check out my board to see everything I'm planning!

Here are some things I think would be really fun

Glittery mason jars with candles for around the deck

Sparklers for when it gets dark, tied in bunches with yellow ribbon

Sparkling Cherry Lemonade

Yellow upside balloons and white lights hanging from the awning

Lemon vases with white flowers for centerpieces

S'mores over the fire pit!

Bacon Wrapped Pineapple Bites
Bacon wrapped pineapple with brown sugar, yummm

Lots of fruit!

Now all I have to do is find a yellow dress! Corn hole will definitely be happening too. I can always use help thinking of fun ideas so let me know if you have any advice/inspiration/words of encouragement, etc. :)

Currently Loving: Design Darling New Arrivals

I'm currently loving Design Darling new arrivals! My love of Design Darling originally bloomed when I was looking for cute ways to organize my desk. They have lots of fun and unique items that give your space some personality. They also have lots of cute decorations and knick-knacks for your home or apartment, and even jewelry!

Here's what I'm loving from their new arrivals -
Currently loving

1 | Miami Necklace
2 | "Hustle" Gold Foil Print
3 | Nautical Map Coasters
4 | Ric Rac Serving Set

Those coasters would look so great on a coffee table, don't you think? And I would love to hang that hustle print in my apartment, great motivation to get things done!

Here's how I would style the statement necklace, dressed up or down!

Work Statement Necklace
Pink and mint

For work I would pair it with a simple but sleek striped skirt and black accessories, and for a more casual look I'd pair it with pops of light blue and maybe a monogram or two :)

Lilly Pulitzer Agendas and Crafts

I know, I know. Everyone has one. Especially if you're in a sorority. But there's a reason these agendas are so popular. They're super cute and make it easy to organize events in your life.

Last year I was trying to find a Lilly agenda once I was back in school, and I couldn't find one anywhere. So, this year I'm definitely going to pre-order. I personally like the large size instead of the small or jumbo, it fits perfectly into my bag and is easy to carry but also has enough room to write in. Here are the patterns featured this year!

Lilly Agendas

My personal favorites are New Green Coronado Crab, Turquoise Lets Cha Cha, and Tropical Pink Lulu. Very fun and fresh, and of course colorful!
Even after the year is up, there are literally a million things you can do with the adorable covers and pages instead of just throwing them out (they're pricey, anyway). Here are a few ideas I grabbed from Pinterest:

Cut out the months and stick them on a cork board to make a monthy planner that's easy to change, or mod podge them on a mirror!

More Lilly-fied cork board!

Mod podge onto coasters!

Use them on wooden letters for decorations, or glue onto wooden picture frames! Perfect for dorm rooms!

Lastly, glue onto a serving tray, hostess with the mostess!

I hope some of these ideas have helped to inspire you! I think I'll be making a corkboard in the near furture :)

Which Lilly agenda is your favorite?
Have you made anything with your old one?

Current Pinterest Addiction

During my lazy summer days I tend to do more pinning than I normally would. It seems as though I go through phases of things I like to pin; sometimes clothes, sometimes beauty products, sometimes places I want to travel, you get the point. Lately I've been on a desk design kick, probably because I spend most of the day in a cubicle. There are lots of cute ideas on Pinterest on how to make your cubicle adorable but still work appropriate. It's important for me to be in a space I actually enjoy being in so I stay cheerful, energetic, and productive.

Here is some of my favorite inspiration and well as things I like to include on my desk!

I love clean lines with pops of gentle color, and FLOWERS of course! What's happier than flowers?! You can see the rest of my workplace board on Pinterest here! Finally, here are some of my favorite desk items -

Desk Essentials

Coffee included, all of these items would help keep your organized as well as make your cubicle the cutest in the office. The notebooks are from May Designs and are a great alternative to other expensive planners/organizers because of their great prices and tons of options to customize them however you like. Hope this helps in keeping your workplace colorful!
